Obedience training is one of the best things you can do for you and your dog. It opens up communication between the two of you so you can understand each other's needs and wants. Most of the behaviors that dogs display are acceptable, but the dog needs to be taught to display them at the proper place and time. For example, a dog needs to go to the bathroom of course, but not in the house! And you want your dog to bark when a stranger comes around, but not bark all night long and wake everybody up! Obedience training will teach your dog how to exhibit his behaviors in ways that are socially acceptable to you.
